First of all I want to point out that I am no photographer. I am an Interface artist, but that does not exclude me from seeing other things that will surely benefit other artistic platforms.
Some of you may already know of it, but for those who don't, listen up.
Nik Software, Inc. is a privately held company that develops software solutions for the growing digital imaging and photography markets. It has become the recognized leader in digital photographic filter development and produces award-winning technology and software products for digital photography and imaging professionals including U Point® technology, Dfine®, Viveza™, Color Efex Pro™, and Nik Sharpener Pro™ software.
In January of this year, they released Viveza™. Here is their product description "Two of the most important factors in creating great photography are color and light. Mastering the art of selectively correcting or enhancing each of these is now possible for every photographer without the need for complicated masks or selections, or expert-level knowledge of Photoshop. Integrating award-winning U Point technology, Viveza is the most powerful and precise tool available to control light and color in photographic images.
U Point powered Color Control Points, placed directly on colors or objects in an image (such as sky, skin, grass, etc.), reveal easy-to-use controls that photographers can use to quickly adjust brightness, contrast or color in a fraction of the time needed by other tools. With Viveza you'll spend more time shooting photographs and save hours of image editing.
My first reaction was "ho hum, here's yet another plugin...so what?." I have tried loads and 99% of them I end up binning after playing with them a bit. BUT I saw some rave reviews and thought I would give it a go.......my jaw hit the ground. It is one of the easiest plugs to use and what it produces is outstanding.
This one is such an advance in photo editing that I predict Adobe buying (or copying) it and incorporating a version of this into a future version of PS. It really is that good and now it's just become available for people on macs.
But don't take my word for it. Go and check it out www.niksoftware.com/viveza/usa… and try the free trial. I will guarantee that, as a photographer, you will actually want to purchase this one.
Remember where and who you heard it from first when you see this in a future version of Photoshop

A Blast From The Past
Well hello Deviantart. I remember you.
It's been just over 6 years since I submitted anything, even a journal entry. I bet everything has changed so much and friends have moved on. Who is still around? Is the modding scene still going strong? Do skins still be made? Am I still even followed by anyone? :-(
I wonder what I would come up with now if I dusted off the old programs ;-)
Forgot How to Skin :-(
It's been so long since I've opened up Skinstudio or even Photoshop that I've kinda forgotten how to do things I used to do :-(
It's also been soooooo long since I've wrote a journal lol I've been contemplating starting to make some more skins but have I been missed? Should I make a return? and if so, what do you want to see from me?
Thought people :-)
iPhone 5
Read Damnit!
Everytime I've told you about something happening with an iPhone I've been telling you and it happens a couple of months later. This is because I know someone "on the inside" ;)
If you are wondering about an iPhone 5, I can confirm that it will be here in June. I can't tell you what will be new about it but I can say that 3 prototypes were made and 1 of them had a slide out keyboard, however I doubt that would catch on. It would make it thicker and Apple are going down the thinner route on everything.
You heard it here first :)

Letter of Love
Read Damnit!
Dear Natalie, When I met you 8 months ago I didn't think I would be meeting my soulmate. It seem's destiny thought it was about time we got together.
I can't believe it's only been 8 months, it feels longer. I suppose it feels longer because I've known you and loved you my whole life, I just had to find you. Finding you wasn't easy though and I had to experience heartbreak along the way but I now know that the love I thought I've felt and the broken hearts, were all just preparing me for finding you. I've not truly been in love until now. It's as though my heart was being warmed up for true love and the heartache was to help m
